  My Friends,

Soon after it was announced at Shore Leave 30 that I was named the
new R7 RC, I had mentioned, unofficially, that I had a member in
mind for the position of Chief of Staff. Unfortunately, that news
was not well-received amongst a number of the attending membership
and even after I got home from the convention, I had gotten a few
emails voicing great displeasure.

For such a critical position as Chief of Staff, I was compelled to
take into account the opinions of those members and discuss a course
of action with our VRC (or VCR) Bob Vosseller. I had also contacted
my original choice for CoS and he had agreed that we could not
proceed. Thus, we have decided to go in a different direction with
our choice for CoS.

I am proud to announce that Fleet Captain Jeff Victor of the U.S.S.
Challenger has been named our new Region 7 Chief of Staff. Both Bob
and I have worked with Jeff for some time now and he had been of
great help during our election campaign and is intimate with our
platform and what we wish to accomplish during our administration. I
am quite confident that he is up to the task and will execute his
duties successfully.

Please make Jeff feel welcome to our Command Staff and he will be
hitting the ground running in his new position :)
